The Accurate List – Dumping Zone

Aarav was warned not to ask whatever happened in last few hours, and after giving Pratham a nice blow just missing his eye even he was reluctant of asking anything about it in a fear of receiving the dose of his own medicine. So they both were dodging to justify themselves. However the two different seats were the point of chatter between them while boarding the Boeing. 17B and 31E, the Boeing was in the formation of 2-4-2 so the first one was a better one being aisle side.

“I am gonna take the 31E, you go have some quiet time alone.” Aarav said noticing that 31D and 31F were occupied by girls.

“Yea you try your luck there. Even if you get any lucky, they won’t understand either Hindi or English.” Pratham wished him.

“Oh thank you so much Bro…” he replied sarcastically. And they went to their respective seats, 17B was much in the front side of aircraft, Pratham was just apologizing and bumping into every third person on the way to his seat.

“Thank you for last minute booking.” He thanked to the passenger next to him as he took the seat.

“Excuse me?” The lady spoke browsing out of her spectacles and coming out of the book she was reading.

“You are the manager, who booked my tickets. Your uniform says it all.” He said directing towards her dress which had the logo of the hotel in which all of them were staying.

“Oh it was nothing; I already had one extra ticket which I was going to cancel so I had to get one more. My assistant couldn’t make it that’s why.” She replied generously.

“But still you took all this responsibility, even when you were not there in the hotel; it was so kind of you. Thanks once again…” Pratham was just going to ask her name and the air hostess joined in the conversation.

“And would this lovely couple like some drinks?” the air hostess said with a typical Spanish accent.

“Sorry what?” both Pratham and the manager answered in the sync.

“My apologies madam, would you like to have something?”

“No thanks, actually do you serve some whiskey?” She asked.

“Yes mam we do, and for you sir?” Air hostess asked Pratham.

“I am done with alcohol so coffee for me.” He answered.

“Right away…” she left with a giggle, and there it was, the Boeing preparing to cruise through the cloud, warming up by dashing till the end of the runway, and in a flash the city lights started disappearing, clouds running backwards, stars chasing trying to catch up. But then came the most beautiful moment, which if one haven’t experienced cannot measure the level of its beauty. The moon was just gaining its altitude, and the clouds beneath were bowing down at its might. The darkness ended and the rosiness kept blooming strong and kept increasing. This was mesmerizing moment for Pratham and his companion for the journey, whom just uttered few words till that moment.

On the other half of the wedding companions, Rashi was in hell lot of confusion about getting married and settling down, and she was repugnance to confess it. The confusion was not only about Pratham, it was about was she ready to move in another relationship so quickly after she had a disastrous past with Robin, Rashi’s past which was going to haunt her in near future unless she do something about it. The comment she got from Robin on one of her picture, made Sonal lure her into confessing what shit she was into…

“Jeez Rashi, he is your past, and now is the time to move on and make him history. Forget about what happened he cheated on you and dumped you so what? Pratham is accepting all of this which shows he is okay with the same, he never put this up in any of the arguments, and neither had he told anyone else. So please pull yourself together it is just anxiety nothing else.”

“This is exactly what I am gonna do, make him history.” Rashi spoke

“What did you just heard only those words?” Sonal exclaimed

“Yes, now please do me a favor and get his number.”

“I am out of this. If you are going to contact him again, I am not supporting you on this one Rashi. Get up pack your bags we are leaving.” Sonal advised her

“Yes mummy as you orders.” Rashi teased Sonal.

And they packed their bags, with mixed emotions. Rashi realizing that there are still a lot of decisions to take, her one nighter with Ajinkya, all she could remember was time spent with him Pratham and Rashi didn’t quite there with each other. On other hand Sonal was in jeopardy, the moment when she wanted to kiss Pratham, that moment when Pratham and Sonal unknowingly and unintentionally acted as if they were in a relationship, all the little awkward moments shared with him and after all of this, the lie she told everyone about nothing happening on the mysterious night. She was in guilt to be in the bed with her best friend’s fiancé, but saved Pratham from feeling the same.

“Look I have got a new friend.” Rashi said to Sonal while flashing Ajinkya’s visiting card

“Now who’s this Dr. Ajinkya?”

“Just a guy I met, poor guy was dumped by his fiancé.”

“Yea and you did fill his fiancé’s place didn’t you?”

“Well shit happens…” Rashi said thinking of the one nighter

“Totally agree with that, I am glad this crazy voyage ends here.” Sonal thought of what mess everyone’s been through, and the bad omen began with Aarav’s camera going down the fall. Later when they reached home, the hangover phase of goa began. Sonal was so tired that she slept for almost 18 hours, and in these 18 hours Rashi put pen on the paper on her plot to take down Robin. She took her phone and called…

“Hey! Remembered me?” she said

“Umm sorry I don’t seem to recall your name, but your voice sounds familiar.” He said over the call

“Oh well try to guess, don’t be so rude.” Rashi teased him

“Is it really you? I thought I won’t get a call back from you. How are you Miss Orange?”

“Thank god, took you long but at last recognized me Dr. Jinks.” And both laughed about their lame nicknames

“So what up girl? Can’t even stay one day away from me?” Ajinkya pulled off a joke on her calling just a day after they had last met

“No, I need some help, I told you about that accurate list? This one is for my next thing on the list, and I am going big this time.” Rashi tried to recall him of the situation

“Yea you have my attention, go on…” Ajinkya was all ears on

Rashi explained her plan which she was going to execute, but she was cautious about Sonal, because if she knew that instead of her warning Rashi is going back to Robin. Sonal was gonna get real mad at her, hence se was expecting this to be quick.

‘Hey there, just wondering if you wanna catch up sometime in eve…’ she texted Robin.

She was not sure if he could fall in the trap or this will backfire on to herself. The only thing in her mind was revenge, and that was gonna served cold. There came the reply of the text within few minutes, confirming that Robin had taken the bait and this thrilled her. They chatted for a while before deciding to meet up at the Hangouts Café nearby Ajinkya’s office. After the final confirmation of time and place, she texted Ajinkya saying that the plan is on and told him to break in when she calls.

“Hi dear, how are you?” Robin greeted Rashi when she reached the Hangouts

“Hey, I am fine you say how you are?” Rashi was smiling but just to mask her intentions, they ordered coffee and some usual chat until…

“I am sorry for what happened back between us.” Robin apologized

“Sorry my foot! You left me because of some bitch, and where is she now? Left you too? That is really great; you got taste of your own medicine there. And this is payback time you….” Rashi started cursing him got up splashed up her coffee at his face, pulled him up with his collar and bang! Two quick slaps and she was taken back to real time with Robin asking her

“I just apologized and you are somewhere else?”

“Oh no, sorry. I hope you and what was her name… whatever, I hope both of you enjoy each other’s company.”

“Not really, we broke up recently.”

“Oh, so this is why you made your way pleading back at my feet?” Rashi’s anger was about to burst

“Excuse me? I did come back to you but not because of the break up. Instead I felt somewhere deep down my heart that I do actually care for you and wanted to be with you.” Robin begged Rashi to get back along with him

“Well that is not gonna happen in this universe, or any other parallel universe.” Rashi denied him even though she was going nuts, by his light blue eyes, the way he used to do his spikes, that frowning smile; it was the time when her plan started to backfire.

“Look what I bought for you, your favorite chocolate cake.”

“You do remember my stuffs.” Rashi was amazed

“Yes I do, and all of the little things.” There was a smile now on Robin’s face

“Well now you don’t have to bother yourself from all of this stuff. I am here to take care of her now, so I’ll suggest you step down right now.” Ajinkya said patting Robin on the shoulder

“Hi, sorry I forgot to call you.” Rashi said while hugging him

“What is all this? I thought we were meeting here alone, to sort out our differences.” Robin was in a bit of confusion.

“No you were never meant to be alone, let me introduce myself I am Pratham and I am her fiancé, when she said she got a comment from you I said ignore it but when she told me how you broke her heart I planned up this meeting just so that you can see how much happy she is with me.” Ajinkya posed himself as Pratham

“Oh it is? Well you don’t know anything about her.” Robin was frustrated

“Dude don’t you try it, just let it be.” Ajinkya calmed him

“Just tell me one thing she is allergic to?”

“Oranges. And I don’t need to prove you anything just drop it, get up and leave. This is the time you will remember how you almost got back one of the most beautiful girl, whom you always took for granted.” Rashi giggled at this response and as Robin left she thanked Ajinkya

“Thank you so much for saving me. I was gonna trust him again this time and sorry for not calling you.”

“Yea I was waiting for it and when I gave it a thought, I realized you two never broke up properly. He just left, and that might be the small crack in the wall which could bring it down. And don’t tell me now that I was wrong.” Ajinkya explained her simple math he had done to the conclusion

“And oranges? LOL…” they laughed at it for hours and enjoyed the weather at the rooftop café.

Back at Sonal’s home, her phone was constantly buzzing with texts, at last when she woke up got something to eat she reached for her cell phone and there it was, there were bunch of messages and selfies from Pratham. First one of which was…

‘In Spain, my dream destination…’

But before reaching Madrid there were couple of interesting moments which happened on the aircraft itself. The air hostess returned with their orders and disrupted them from admiring the Moon.

“Here we are, mam your drink and coffee for the one who is done with alcohol.” She served them and left

“That was funny. She used sarcasm on you and you didn’t notice it.” Laughter came out of Pratham’s fellow companion

“I did get it and it is going straight to their suggestion box, to teach crew some manners.” Pratham tuned red not from blushing but in anger

“Chill, hey look, another airplane dashing across the moon.” She pulled Pratham’s arm and tried to show him the view and spilled his coffee on his trousers

“Argh! What the hell?” Pratham got up and moved towards the washroom without even hearing to sorry of the culprit there. Watching Pratham go towards washroom Aarav too got up from his seat and headed the same way.

“Dude you were right, both of them neither know English or my beloved mother tongue Hindi. And I am bored as hell; oh crap did you wet your pants?” Aarav teased him about the coffee

“No this stupid manager of our last hotel at goa, she spilled my coffee.” He explained hoping this wouldn’t be the one story Aarav was going to use to pick up local girls, and at the same moment he thought he never got her name.

“I am so gonna tell, you know my friend over there he peed in his pants, to the girls at my seat. Catch you later.” It was Pratham’s nightmare but he was glad it was going to pay off soon in less than 10 hours.

“Hey we are stuck at adjacent seat and I don’t even know your name, I mean for how much more time I have to call you manager or something like that?” Pratham reached back at his seat

“Hi, and it’s Kanya, you can call me that from now onwards. And I am extremely sorry for your coffee, its stain gonna last long.” She said with a smile

“Never mind it is alright.”

“But I don’t get you, I mean you left in such an anger, and in few minutes you are so calm and talkative?” Kanya asked him

“Yup have a switch off button right there on 31E. And he’s busy pulling my leg off.” As he pointed back to Aarav, he was already busy talking to the girls

“Hmm I can see that, your off button is very busy right now.” Kanya sighed

“So Kanya, what a perfect name.” Pratham tried to be funny

“LOL… that wasn’t funny at all.” She faked laughter

“Oh God bless me. I have to suffer whole trip just because of you.” Pratham said

“What happened now? What did I do?” she asked enraged

“This…” he showed his phone to her which had a selfie of both of the girls with Aarav and they were holding baby diapers in there hand and was ashamed of him.

“Now that’s what you called funny.” She laughed her stomach out

‘What was that? And how the hell did you get those girls to understand you?’

‘Buddy… Divided by languages, united by selfies… thank you for giving me coolest ice breaker of all time… looks like my friend wet him J

‘Stop misusing jet’s Wi-Fi and let me sleep…’

By the time this little conversation ended Pratham felt some weight on his left shoulder he looked and it was Kanya dozing off in his shoulder. The air hostess observed this and offered a head rest, to which Pratham declined whispering her that it will disrupt her sleep.

Flying away from Rashi, Pratham was actually creating distance between them, but he wasn’t alone to be blamed. At this moment everyone was attaining their inner peace, Rashi with getting her revenge, Pratham with few miles from his dream destination, Sonal with sleeping off all her worries, and Aarav was just happy to help his friend all along. But then again, their lives were gonna take another deviation from the fixed path, Kanya and Ajinkya joining the party, the ride was going to be a little bumpy.
